These take some time to make, but oh my gosh are they worth it.
Ingredients for Rolls
1 cup, plus 2 tablespoons warm milk
3 tablespoons oil
1 slightly beaten egg, plus 2 egg whites
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons brown sugar
4 cups self rising flour
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons active dry yeast
Ingredients for Filling
4 tablespoons melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
Ingredients for Frosting
3 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup softened butter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Start by adding the roll ingredients in your bread machine in the exact order as listed above. Set to dough cycle and let the bread machine do the work.
Once complete, with flour roll out to a rectangle about 18x24 inches.
Now for the filling, spread on the butter. Mix the cinnamon and brown sugar in a separate bowl together then sprinkle on top of the softened buttered roll.
Next, roll the dough tightly from the long end pinching edges closed when completely rolled.
Slice dough in 1/2 inch thick slices (or thicker if desired) and place into a greased 9x13 dish or two round baking dishes. There will be around 12 rolls.
Now cover the rolls with a towel and let rise until doubled (around 30 minutes).
Cook in a 325 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until browned.
Mix all of your frosting ingredients together and spread on top of cinnamon rolls after they have cooled for about 15 minutes.
