M & M Cookies

My go to cookie recipe with m&m’s - yes, please! I found these from Together as Family and they are thick, chewy and really are the best cookies!

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 sticks of salted butter

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 cups and 2 tablespoons of flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup of m&m’s

Instructions

  • Start by putting your refrigerated butter in the microwave for 15 seconds then toss in your stand mixer with the sugars and mix.

  • Next, add the egg, yolk and vanilla and mix.

  • Add the rest of the dry ingredients slowly. Make sure not to over mix too much.

  • Now add the m&m’s - I’ve used mini m&m’s, which are the cutest. But the best cookies I have made include a mix of mini, peanut butter and regular m&m’s.

  • You can make small cookies, but these are so good if you make them big and thick. Get two cookie sheets out and line with parchment paper.

  • Get a 1/4 cup of dough, then roll in a ball with your hands, tear apart in two pieces and place the rough side down and add the other part on top of it with the rough side up. Repeat until the dough is gone.

  • Pop in a 325 degree oven and bake 13 minutes until the edges are light brown. The middle will still be soft and pale.

  • Once you pull the cookies out of the oven, pop a few more m&m’s on top of the cookies.

  • Let cool, then enjoy!
